All units have under floor heating, inside and outside gas fires, inside and outside covered dining facilities, a fully equipped kitchen and DStv. All rooms are en-suite and luxury bathrooms with showers and baths. Full linen and towels are supplied.

Attractions

The Estate provides 18 holes of golf with a restaurant and bar facilities in the clubhouse. There are a number of trout fishing dams, walks and hikes. The surrounds provide magnificent mountain scenery with a multitude of activities and attractions.

The Golden Gate National Park, with its spectacular mountains and hiking trails, is within 20km's of the lodge.

The charming art and craft village of Clarens is one of the most popular weekender destinations for visitors from Johannesburg, and boasts more art galleries and restaurants per square kilometer than anywhere else in South Africa.

Numerous important San Rock Art Sites are found in the surrounding sandstone hills and, along with mountain biking, hiking and quad bike trails, they make any visit just not quite long enough. Hot air ballooning, white water rafting and kayaking are all available within close proximity to Clarens Lodge, as well as a 4x4 driving trail among the cliffs and mountains.

How to get there


Travel down the N3 from Johannesburg towards Harrismith. Turn right towards the Golden Gate National Park via the Sterkfontein Dam. Travel through Golden Gate towards Clarens. The Clarens Golf and Trout Estate is on the right-hand side just before the village of Clarens.
