No doubt one of the most popular activities is a sundowner cruise aboard the Liquid Lounge which is equipped with a bar and offers light menu options for groups up to 120 pax. The cruise glides up and down stream offering views of the many beautiful homes situated along the river. For individuals and smaller groups, the River Otter Cruiser caters for up to 15 pax.

How to get there

From Johannesburg/Pretoria N1
Coming out of Pretoria travel south on the N1 highway. Travel through Johannesburg on the N1 following the signs N1 Bloemfontein.

Travel out of Johannesburg following the N1 Bloemfontein to the Grasmere Toll Plaza. Still
traveling on the N1 after the toll plaza take the off ramp for Vanderbijlpark/Vereeniging/Sasol R57. Travel straight on this road past one stop street and three traffic lights. After the third traffic light take the off ramp for Lochvaal/Vanderbijlpark South.

At the T-Junction turn left. At the next stop street turn right and follow the signs for Riverside Sun Resort.


From OR Tambo International Airport
Coming out of the airport take the Johannesburg/Pretoria/East Rand turn off. Take the R24 to Johannesburg. Take the N12 to Kimberley/Bloemfontein. Move over to the left lane and take the Pretoria/Germiston/N3 turn off.

Continue on the N3 towards Heidelberg. Take the N12/Bloemfontein turn off which is to the right of the highway. Take the R59 towards Vereeniging. Take the R59 Sasolburg/Vereeniging. Follow the R59 all the way, by pass Vereeniging and take the R42 to Vanderbiljpark.

First set of traffic lights you come to is Ascot on Vaal (the Pick ‘n Pay will be on your left hand side) then Andries Potgieter Blvd (the Vaal Technikon will be on your left hand side), and then Louis Trichart Blvd (the squash court will be on your left hand side). Continue until you come to Frikkie Meyer Blvd. Turn left into Frikkie Meyer Blvd. Continue straight down Frikkie Meyer Blvd. You’ll pass through three sets of traffic lights; Riverside Boulevard Mall will be on your left hand side. The road will curve right into Chopin Street.

Thereafter follow the signs to the Riverside Sun Resort.
