Description
SANDRIVER GETAWAY offers tented accommodation, with each tent situated on a covered wooden deck with uninterrupted views of the Elands River Valley and the Groendal Mountain Range.

Three tents with double beds or two twin beds - ideal for couples or friends sharing; bedding provided. Two family tents sleeping up to four persons; bedding provided. Five extra ground tents available for larger parties; mattresses provided; own sleeping bags and pillows required. Battery powered bedside lamps are provided in each tent.

All tents positioned near to the main centre and ablution facilities. Hot showers and flush toilets provided in the ablution facilities. There is a storage kist/trunk in each tent plus space to store your bags.

Attractions

Situated ± 60km from Port Elizabeth, SANDRIVER GETAWAY is a quick and easy 50 minute drive to experiencing the absolute peace and tranquility of the Elands River Valley. Spectacular scenery in tranquil surrounds makes this the perfect getaway.

We are an environmentally friendly Eco Camp having a minimal impact on our natural surroundings. We use solar powered LED lighting, some paraffin lighting and gas for our appliances (fridge/freezer, stove) and geysers. Water is provided from a bore hole and from rainwater tanks.

Special Features

We are able to erect 5 ground tents for larger groups, only if all the tents are occupied. These tents sleep 2 per tent, but can accommodate 4 per tent for school groups. These tents are ideal for children of large family groups or groups of friends, where adults and children all need to be accommodated. These sites are behind the main centre. Covered mattresses are provided, but own sleeping bag and pillow required.

How to get there


From Port Elizabeth:
N2 West to Cape Town (alternately take Cape Road west and carry on until you pass St Albans.(Proceed to step 4).

2• Take the St. Albans off-ramp and turn right.
3• T-Junction Left into R102 Cape Road
4• Take the 1st road Right after the St Albans Main Entrance
5• Follow the road for about 5.7KM till you get to a stop street. (Rocklands)
6• Continue over the cross-road and after 24km you will have arrived.
