No matter how many in your group (capacity 15 including optional Garden Suite) the entire house is yours for the duration of your holiday. This includes exclusive use of the leafy garden with tranquil lily ponds and infinity swimming pool over looking False Bay and the Cape Peninsula. Shaded spots under the trees for picnics and secret corners where you can take time out and enjoy the birdlife. Separate self catering unit also available.

The family feel is prevalent throughout the house with photographs, antique furniture handed down through the ages, and souvenirs collected on happy holidays across the world. Oregon floors, yellow wood beams, and the most unusual wall decorations set the tone for a relaxed but stylish holiday venue.

EMMA'S ROOM
This light and spacious room decorated in burgundy and white is a perfect expression of Emma’s personality and heart. the most spacious of all the rooms and has a queen bed and a sleeper couch. The airy bathroom has an enclosed private garden around it and boasts a large bath as well as a big shower. Guests have a private view of the garden from the bath and the toilet.

PIPPA'S ROOM
The room has a queen bed an on suite bathroom with a shower, toilet and a beautiful Victorian bath that has a private view of the garden. A double door opens onto a courtyard with a fishpond and a table and chair for a bit of TLC; perfect for a bit of lazy lounging with a good book and a spot of tea.

CINDY'S ROOM
The smallest of the four, has twin beds, with an en-suite corner bath and a toilet. Double doors also open onto a veranda that overlooks the garden and a playful swing, the perfect fairy touch to the room.

SAMMY'S ROOM
This two-bedroom ‘cottage’ room is decorated in bright, warm orange colours showcasing the nature-lover in Sammy. One room has a queen bed with victorian bath, whilst the other room has a single bed and sleeper couch with a bath, shower and a toilet. Double doors open up to a veranda overlooking the beautiful garden with a huge tree in the middle.

THE GARDEN SUITE
Originally a double storey cottage in the garden Mike has converted this into a one level garden suite. Situated to the side of the main house but close enough for inclusion this secluded, stylish suite comprises two bedroom and bathroom. The suite enjoys it’s own privacy in the form of a walled private terrace with stunning views of the garden, infinity pool and lily ponds.

Attractions

Inside the house the lounge area, with stunning Oregon floors, has a huge fireplace for the cold winter evenings There is a library with writing desk; a well stocked pub with corner fireplace and TV nook, and a spacious farm style kitchen. Wi-Fi is available throughout the house.

Your stay at Chelaya includes a first class English and Continental breakfast and at night you may choose to self cater – perhaps with a traditional braai (barbeque) or by whistling up your own family favourite. You can, of course, dine at one of the many excellent restaurants in the area.
 

Special Features

The bar is staffed during working hours but becomes an honesty bar in the later hours. Light meals, picnics and poolside snacks are available throughout the day. A well trained and friendly group of staff are there to make up and turn down the rooms, do the washing up, clean the house, light the fires and to make sure you have everything you require. In the garden are discreet staff to maintain the pool and ensure umbrellas, towels and loungers are provided when the sun is shining.
