Description
CALANGA BEACH RESORT is a coastal holiday and breakaway destination for families, friends and individuals who want to relax in the peaceful nature of Mozambique situated about 200km from the South African border at Komatipoort and 90km from Maputo.

A 4 x 4 vehicle is recommended for the last 10km of this natural coastline. Guests can leave their vehicles in Manhica (closest town) in safe parking and be collected by the Resort by prior arrangement.

The Resort is set in a dense coastal dune forest behind a sand dune, which offers shelter from the wind and ocean. The Resort sleeps 56 people in the Lodge in either 2,4,or 6 bed chalets; in the Casitas 1 or 2 bedrooms self-catering; the Tented Camp with 2 tents sleeping 4 people each; or the Campsite.

The weather is wonderful most times of the year making CALANAGA BEACH RESORT a fabulous holiday destination all year round.

Rates quoted are in ZA Rands and are per person sharing DBB in Lodge.
Chalets are from R410 to R1710 per night per chalet. Tented camp is R125 to R200 per person sharing per night, bring own bedding. Camping is R100 to R125 per person per night. Bring own towels.

How to get there

From the Komatipoort border with South Africa follow the EN1 toll road for about 80km to the main crossing at Matola, turn left to Maputo and continue for about 10km.

Take left turnoff to Xai-Xai passing the Maputo toll gate, turn left to Xai-Xai and continue about 30km to Marrecuene, turn right into Marrecuene, at T-junction turn left, then right at the gravel road and continue towards the river.

Take the ferry crossing to Macanetta. It takes about 1½ hours to travel 53km from here - please request a detailed map to be emailed.
