With East London as the gateway, the Wild Coast stretches some 500 kilometers up the South Eastern tip of Africa. Rural, remote and undeveloped, the Wild Coast is one of the most beautiful, un-spoilt coastlines in the world.

It is sometimes difficult to access this region. One of the best ways is to use the coastal towns (often considered as part of the Wild Coast) of Kei Mouth, Cintsa, Sunrise-on-Sea and perhaps Gonubie as a base. These towns are beautifully situated on magnificent beaches and surrounded by typical Eastern Cape flora and fauna. From here, day trips and coastal walks and hikes abound. Cross the Kei River in an old fashioned pont (a small "ferry" type barge to cross the river) at Kei Mouth or drive up the N2 highway and you're in the heart of the Wild Coast.
